Our Angel Alumni are already making their mark! 🎾❤️

Congratulations to IWA Class of 2026 graduate Kameron Fernandez, who was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for St. Lawrence University Men’s Tennis!

Kameron earned the honor after a strong weekend at the Garnet Charger Invite, where he won the C singles consolation final and also earned a third-place finish in doubles alongside teammate Marco Lee.

We are so proud to see one of our newest IWA alumni starting his collegiate career strong. Congratulations, Kameron! 👏🎾

This photo from our 1961 yearbook features IWA’s “boarders,” students who traveled from across Texas and Mexico to Corpus Christi to receive a Catholic education at Incarnate Word Academy.

The original yearbook caption described the girls as “natural hams” as they posed together for this photo! 😊

From IWA’s halls to a career on screen, Amy Bailey ’94 is coming back to campus! 🎬❤️

Known for her role as Joanna in The Chosen, Amy will return to IWA on October 8 to spend time with current students and share about her journey and career as an actress.

We love seeing where life takes our alumni, and we’re especially excited when that journey brings them back to IWA to share their experiences with the next generation of Angels.

A little blast from the past! ❤️✨

Here’s a look back at the Class of 1981 celebrating their 20-year reunion. Now, 25 years later, they’re getting ready to do it all over again!

Only FIVE weeks until the Class of 1981 comes together to celebrate 45 years! 🎉 Time has certainly flown, but there’s nothing like reconnecting with old friends, sharing a few laughs, and remembering the years that brought everyone together.

Class of ’81, we can’t wait to see you back together again! ❤️

Remembering one of our Angels, Tony D. Reyna ’90. ❤️

Tony lived a life rooted in faith, family, and a genuine desire to help others. After graduating from IWA in 1990, he followed a calling he had felt since childhood and fulfilled his dream of becoming a doctor, dedicating his career to caring for others in the field of pain management.

Those who knew Tony will remember so much more than his accomplishments. They will remember his contagious laugh, his ever present smile, his kindness, his sense of humor, and the love he had for his family. His deep faith guided him throughout his life, and his words, “God will always provide,” are a beautiful reflection of the way he chose to live.

Our hearts and prayers are with Tony’s wife, children, family, friends, and fellow classmates as they remember a life that meant so much to so many.

Tony will always be remembered as a special part of the IWA Class of 1990. ❤️

We love seeing our Angel alumni cross paths after graduation! ❤️🤘

Bella Taylor and JB Jackson, two recent IWA grads and new Longhorns, ran into each other at UT over the weekend. Bella was so happy to see a familiar Angel face!

Today marks their first day of classes at UT, and we’re wishing Bella and JB a great start to this exciting new chapter! ❤️

❤️ Alumni Spotlight: Paula Beck Vargas ’91

For Paula, IWA has remained a special part of her story long after graduation.

After graduating with the Class of ’91, Paula spent three months in Spain, traveling throughout southern Spain and living in Madrid. She later moved to Houston, where she worked as a nanny while attending college, before returning to Corpus Christi and beginning her career in the oil and gas industry.

Back home, Paula crossed paths again with fellow IWA alumnus Vincent Vargas ’90, and eventually, the two married! They began their family in San Antonio, welcoming their sons, Nicholas and Adam, before making their way back to Corpus Christi.

Today, Paula and Vincent are once again part of the IWA community, now as parents. Adam is in the Middle Level, and Nicholas is in the High School.

“My years at IWA helped shape my faith and played an important role in who I am today. It is especially meaningful to now see our sons making their own memories and growing in their faith at the school that meant so much to us.”

Paula and Vincent’s story is a beautiful testament to what makes IWA so special. Generations of Angels return to give their own children the opportunity to grow, learn, and create memories at the school that helped shape them. ❤️
