It's just about HOMECOMING time again here at LHS. We will kick off the festivities with hallway decorating on Sunday, Sept. 22 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM.

The overall theme this year was "Holidays." Our class voted and we will be doing Chinese New Year for our holiday theme.

Calling All LHS Student Council Members!

Students will get three more days of summer vacation this year thanks to construction material shipping delays for the middle and high school cafeteria. The cafeteria flooring was delayed which pushed back the installation of kitchen equipment resulting in the need to push the first day of school. Students will return to campus for the 2024 - 2025 school year on July 22, 2024.

“It is not as simple as serving meals in the gym or classroom due to the federal laws guiding school meals,” said Dr. Bill Chapman, London ISD Superintendent. “We want to start the year off on the right way and this means having a fully functioning cafeteria for our students,” added Dr. Chapman. The London ISD School Board of Trustees voted on Monday night to extend summer vacation for students by three days to give construction crews time to finish the new cafeteria.

Teachers will still report to school on Wednesday, July 10th and have extended professional development while students continue their summer break. London ISD runs on a modified year-round school schedule and at this time there will be no need to make up or extend the end of the year. London ISD builds extra school instruction days into the master calendar to anticipate weather or other issues that might impact required instruction time.

“We are excited about starting school and welcoming all of our Pirates back on campus. The first day of school holds many possibilities and new adventures for students and staff. We appreciate the flexibility of our Pirate families as we navigate the delay,” added Dr. Chapman
