FIRST PEP RALLY OF THE YEAR = ABSOLUTE WILDCAT ENERGY!

The gym was LOUD, the spirit was HIGH, and our Wildcats showed up ready to bring the energy! From the band setting the tone to our students and Wildcat Families filling the stands, cheering, competing, and showing off that Wildcat pride—our first pep rally of the year did NOT disappoint!

The Spirit Stick Challenge was a TOUGH decision! Every grade level brought the noise, the enthusiasm, and some serious school spirit.

But when the final cheers were counted…

7th grade English Scholars in Mrs. Sanchez and Mr. Vasquez’s classes took a trip back in time in anticipation of their next novel, The Watsons Go to Birmingham—1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis.

Students experienced the sights and sounds of the 1960s, learned about the author, and discussed how life then compares to life today.

Students then participated in a gallery walk, analyzing historical images and considering how the time period may have impacted an African American family traveling during the 1960s. They wrapped up the activity by sharing their observations and different perspectives with classmates. 🐾

Scientists in Ms. Hadlock’s classes are putting their scientific skills to work during an exciting lab investigation of acids, bases, and water! Students tested common substances, observed color changes using pH indicators, recorded their findings, and compared the properties of different solutions.

Through hands-on exploration, collaboration, and careful observations, our young scientists are discovering how science connects to the world around them! 🐾

Science you can see, measure, and taste! 🧪💧 Our students are exploring concentration and dilution by creating solutions, adding water, observing changes in color, and learning how the amount of solute and solvent affects concentration. Hands-on science = learning that sticks! 🔬✨🐾

Students in Mrs. Story’s math classes put their problem-solving and math skills to the test with an exciting Balloon Car Challenge!

Students designed and constructed their balloon cars, then tested and evaluated their designs before race day. They had three opportunities to record their results, review their performance, and make adjustments to improve their cars.

Along the way, students applied real-world math by calculating the average speed of their balloon cars and the total distance traveled. They weren’t just learning math—they were using math to solve problems, analyze results, make decisions, and improve their designs!

What a fun way to put math in motion!
