In accordance with CUSD’s Heat Day Guidelines, and due to the forecasted high heat index in Coronado, Superintendent Mueller is declaring a Minimum Day on Tuesday, August 25.

All schools will begin at their regular times, and will dismiss students at 12:30 pm.

Lunch
Village and Silver Strand Elementary: students will eat lunch prior to dismissal.
CMS / CHS: the cafeteria will be open at 12:30 PM for students to take a grab and go lunch prior to leaving campus.

Transportation
Buses will pick up students at regular locations at 12:30 dismissal.

Champions After-Care Programs
Village and Silver Strand Elementary: will operate in designated campus Cool Zones and will begin programming at the minimum day dismissal.

The City of Coronado Recreation Department, Police Department (lifeguards, crossing guards, etc.) have been informed of the early dismissal and will operate accordingly.

Welcome Officer Rude!

📚🚓 A new school year and a new role for Officer Rude!

Officer Rude is beginning her first year as Coronado’s School Resource Officer, and she’s looking forward to getting to know our students, families, and school staff.

For Officer Rude, being an SRO is about more than keeping our campuses safe—it’s about building trust, being a resource for families, and making sure our students know they have someone in their corner. 💙

And if you’re wondering what her long-term plans are… apparently it’s pastry chef. 🧁 We’ll enjoy having her as our SRO while we can. 😉
