π Back-to-School Tip #3: Read to and with Your Children
One of the best ways to prepare for a successful school year is to spend time reading together.
Whether your child is just beginning to discover books or is an independent reader, reading aloud creates meaningful opportunities to connect, build vocabulary, and spark thoughtful conversations.
As the new school year approaches, choose stories that explore themes like friendship, courage, kindness, resilience, and new beginnings. These books can help children reflect on their feelings, process the excitement (and sometimes nervousness!) of returning to school, and open the door for important family conversations.
π And don't forget: Be sure to complete all assigned summer reading before the first day of school! Check out the pinned Summer Reading post to review the grade-level reading lists.
Just 20 minutes of reading each day can make a lasting impactβand create memories your children will cherish for years to come.
Happy reading, and we'll see you soon! β€
