High School Students & Parents… ✨

Navigating the high school experience, the college prep & application process is not a simple task.

The 1️⃣ thing I recommend is to ASK colleges…

💟 Ask about recommended admissions requirements/deadlines
💟 Ask who the regional counselor is for your HS
💟 Ask if an SAT/ACT is required/optional/blind
💟 Ask about scholarships
💟 Ask about study abroad programs
💟 Ask about campus safety
💟 Ask about health services & cost
💟 Ask about research opportunities
💟 Ask what does their ideal student look like?

YOU are important in the college application process.

What I tell my private clients… YOU are the customer and your concerns, uncertainty & questions matter.

Jump in and make this experience YOURS! Take the lead and don’t shy away from ASKING… You’ve got this! 🤍

Rising HS seniors... Letters of Recommendation (LOR)

Have you decided which teacher(s) you plan to ask to write you a Letter of Recommendation?

If not, here are few things to consider:

* Was the course a core subject? (math, science, social science, English or foreign language?)

* Did you make the extra effort to get to know the teacher?

* Besides the grade you earned what can the teacher write about your work ethic, class behavior and engagement?

Letters of Recommendation can add value to your college application. It can help admissions determine if you are a good fit at their college. Your work ethic, level of commitment and how determined you were to improve and in some cases how you dug yourself out of a hole is extremely valuable.

Choose wisely!
