Thanks to all of the parents who came to the Empowering Orange County Parents Resource Fair! It was a great experience hearing your stories about your children, and having the opportunity to introduce myself to you. Please feel free to contact me at any time if there's anything I can do to help your child in any way. As I told so many of you, never give up on your kids--there are wonderful results that will come your way if you just remain strong and patient. Thanks again for coming to the event and stopping by my table! You are all heroes in my eyes.--Ron--
Ron's Private Tutoring
Private tutor for autistic & non-autistic students specializing in reading, writing and speaking. Ca. Credentialed teacher. 15 years experience. Orange County.
Accepting new students now living in Newport, Irvine, and So. Contact: [email protected] I graduated from the University of Redlands--with Distinction-- and completed my fifth year work at Cal-State University, Los Angeles, where I received my California Teaching Credential. I have previously worked as a high school English teacher, and went out on my own as a private tutor 15 years ago. This is
My name is Nell Yang. I’d like to give my highest recommendation to Mr. Ron W. Wells, my son’s tutor for over10 years.
My son was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2. He was non-verbal until age 5. Ron started tutoring him at age 9, and we never had to worry about his homework again, ever. The result was like day and night. My son acquired independent study skills that he never had previously. He is able to read Shakespeare and comprehend it.
During the past 10 years, Ron has never missed a single session. He taught my son with great patience. He methodically tried different instructional methods until he found the one most effective with my son. He was keenly aware of my son’s special needs – even composed a written evaluation report with detailed recommendations. He also demonstrated great patience and communication with us as parents. He was able to address all of my concerns and find strategies to cope with concerns and issues raised by parents.
Today, my son is a scholarship recipient college student with a GPA of 3.45. Although he is still affiliated with the DSPS program (Disabled Students Programs and Services), he is able to complete complicated homework projects, studying for quizzes, tests and finals, as well as plan his work on his own. There is a beautiful, trusting friendship developed between the tutor and the student.
Ron has been the biggest blessing in our lives raising a child with special needs. I give him my highest regards and recommendation without reservation. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have via my e-mail: HYPERLINK "mailto:[email protected]" [email protected].
We would highly recommend Ron Wells as an English tutor. Ron has over three decades of experience working with students from elementary to university levels, including students with learning disabilities such as our son. As our son’s English tutor for over eight years, Ron’s hard work and dedication over this period led to a vast improvement in our son’s academic performance in English. Due to Ron’s efforts, our son became a high school honor student and succeeded in college level English. His highly disciplined and structured approach helped our son make significant progress in reading comprehension and writing. This also translated to success in other classes requiring similar critical thinking skills in both the sciences and the humanities.
Furthermore, Ron has the patience and diligent work ethic necessary to effectively work with students. As a result, Ron has sharpened our son’s writing skills thought organization, while improving his reading retention. Ron’s involvement also stretched beyond tutoring through his presence at our son’s IEP meetings, providing great assistance.
Above all, Ron demonstrated honesty and a high level of integrity, which were important in cementing our long-term relationship. Ron sincerely cares about people, and his dedication to help our son while building a strong rapport led to a fruitful relationship starting from middle school through college. Overall, Ron has aided our son immensely in overcoming deficiencies in English and leading him on a path of continued progress.
