God only knows what’s actually in some of these kibble bags. 🫣
And the more you learn about how commercial dog food is made, the more questions you start asking.
Rendered meat meals. Mystery animal ingredients. Cheap starches. Industrial processing. Synthetic vitamin premixes. Ingredients that sound a whole lot better on the front of the bag than they look on the back.
And somehow, we’ve been convinced that feeding the exact same ultra processed pellets every single day for YEARS is the gold standard of canine nutrition.
Make it make sense. 🤨
The pet food industry has spent decades perfecting the art of selling convenience as nutrition. But how often are we actually questioning what goes into that bag, where those ingredients come from, and what happens to them during processing?
Because there’s a LOT more to kibble than a pretty bag and a guaranteed analysis.
And once you start pulling back the curtain, you might never look at your dog’s food the same way again. 👀
I’ve been digging into the ingredients, manufacturing practices, marketing tactics, and science behind commercial kibble in my Substack, The Paw + Plate Collective.
We’re going WAY beyond the ingredient label.
✨ Comment SUBSTACK and I’ll send you my in-depth kibble exposés so you can start questioning what’s really in your dog’s bowl.
