Today our Early Head Start toddlers explored Fire Safety during their home visits.
Our little ones learned that firefighters are community helpers who work hard to keep us safe.
We talked about staying away from hot things and when we see fire we shout,"Help!" We hid paper flames around the home and encouraged them to walk around looking for them and shouting, "help" whenever they found a flame.

Another activity we explored was the children practiced removing the bears from the forest fires using plastic tongs which improves fine motor skills as well.

Through conversation, movement, pretend play, fire safety books, and hands on exploration, our toddlers practiced important safety concepts while building confidence and understanding.

We had a wonderful time on our Walker pumpkin farms field trip.

The children were able to walk through a corn maze and learn about how tall stalks are, and animals that eat the corn.

We went on a wagon ride to the field to pick a pumpkin. The children compared sizes and features like colors, stems, and weight.

Learning happens everywhere, especially at home!
One of the most beautiful parts about Early Head Start is watching the little ones learn and grow right where they feel the most comfortable-at home with their families. ❤️
Everyday moments become learning opportunities. Whether they're sorting laundry, playing with a sibling, looking at books, helping in the kitchen, exploring outside or simply have a conversation with a grown-up, our toddlers are building important skills through the routines and experiences that happen every day.

As Early Head Start Home Visitors, we are honored to partner with our families, support their goals, and help them recognize the amazing learning that is already happening in their homes. ❤️

What a picture perfect day for our Early Head Start and Home Base families!

Our Socialization was filled with fun, exploration, family connection and hands-on learning around every corner.
We enjoyed a haywagon ride, picked our own pumpkins and even got to sit on a real tractor.
We explored the corn field and pumpkin field , some of us made our way through the corn maze, and discovered the beauty of the wildflowers.

We enjoyed lunch together and had lots of opportunities for families to connect and make memories.
Our little ones also had the opportunity to interact with the Center Based children, building social-emotional skills through sharing spaces, communicating, and engaging with new friends.
And while it looked like a day of just having fun, our toddlers were learning ALL day long!

Early Math Skills- Comparing pumpkins by size, shape, color and weight.

Science and Nature- Exploring where food comes from, observing plants, corn, flowers, pumpkins, and noticing the sights, sounds and textures of the natural world.

Cognitive Development- Navigating the corn maze encouraged the children to problem solve, make choices, remember directions and figure out how to get from one place to another.

Language Development- New experiences provide wonderful opportunities to learn and use new words such as pumpkin, corn, tractor, flower, big, little, orange, bumpy and smooth.

Social-Emotional Learning- Being around other children and their families encourages children to practice social interaction, taking turns, sharing experiences, building confidence and becoming comfortable in new environments.

Physical Development-Walking, climbing, exploring, navigating the maze, and moving through different environments all support gross motor development and coordination.

Family Engagement- Most importantly children were learning alongside the people who mean the most to them.
Families were talking, exploring, laughing and creating memories together. 🧡
