While we stand firm in our concerns and questions about the Corning-Painted Post School District, we have allowed opinions from those defending the district. However, we will not tolerate disrespectful or bullying behavior. Although we are tempted to leave these people be, as they reveal the nature of some school district supporters, it’s simply not worth the time to sift through their bullying comments. Please feel free to express your views respectfully, but any attempts to engage in trash-talking or bullying will result in removal from the conversation. Thank you for your understanding.

Today's overdose at the Corning-Painted Post High School is a stark reminder of the serious issues facing our district. When those in positions of responsibility, including educators, engage in substance use on school grounds without consequences, we are setting a dangerous precedent. Our children's safety is at risk, and it’s time to address this growing concern. We must take action now to protect our students and ensure a safe, healthy environment for learning. The situation is escalating, and it’s time for change.

Hey Michelle Caulfield (Corning-Painted Post Superintendent),

Can you please explain what disciplinary actions were taken regarding the middle school teacher who was caught drinking alcohol twice while on the job and on school grounds? And why was he allowed to return to work without completing treatment after the first incident?

Additionally, your boyfriend is also a teacher in the district, correct? Our understanding is that he, too, was found with alcohol on school property multiple times. Are district employees allowed to store alcohol in school refrigerators? And did he complete his treatment program?

And let’s be very clear… these are just two examples of what has been happening recently within our district. There is more that will be coming out. We cannot continue to sit complacent while leadership fails to uphold even the most basic standards.

Is this really the example we want to set? Are Corning-Painted Post residents genuinely okay with this? Is this a good reputation for Corning Incorporated to uphold within the community?
Because year after year, we keep approving the school budget as if nothing is wrong. It’s time to show that this behavior is unacceptable by voting NO this upcoming year.

What message are we sending to our kids when the adults in charge face no real consequences?
Don’t let the district bully or intimidate you. We have a district led by complete incompetence… and a school board that’s proving to be no better.

Please spread the word so that we ensure and set a POSITIVE example to our youth and advocate for CHANGE this next year! VOTE NO!

We’ve been told that the middle school teacher who was caught drunk on school grounds (for the second time) was allowed to return the first time, before finishing his drug and alcohol classes.

Can anyone confirm if this is true? The district doesn’t seem to think it’s important enough to answer, apparently deciding it’s not our business.

But here’s the thing.. it became our business the moment that teacher stepped onto school grounds, under the influence, to teach our kids in a building we pay for.

So, was this teacher actually allowed back before completing his required classes? And did he ever finish them?

We fully support recovery but accountability matters just as much. If our district won’t hold staff accountable, how can they possibly expect our students to be?

It is our understanding that high school conference calendars were to be distributed the day after Open House. If that is correct, we would like to know why this has not happened and why, despite paying substantial school taxes, there appears to be a lack of accountability in ensuring teachers fulfill this responsibility.

We are increasingly aware of the serious concerns surrounding the lack of transparency, questionable practices, and potential cover-ups occurring behind closed doors within the Corning-Painted Post School District. The community deserves clarity, honesty, and accountability from those entrusted with educating our children and managing public resources.

It is time to shed light on the decisions being made and demand answers to the questions that continue to go ignored.

Can anyone confirm whether the rumors at the middle school are true?

Parents and community members deserve transparency. Instead, we’re met with silence…. AGAIN. Are we seriously going to continue covering up serious issues that impact the safety and well-being of our children in the Corning-Painted Post School District?

We demand answers:

Were police called to the middle school a few weeks ago?

Was a teacher found intoxicated while on duty?

Did he spill alcohol on student papers?

Was he “popping cans” under his desk during class?

Is this being actively covered up? WE ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS!

Has this teacher been suspended?

Is he receiving help?

Is he still being paid while suspended?

Is the district paying for rehab—if he’s even attending?

Who decides if he keeps his job?

And why are administrators ignoring public emails and refusing to respond?

Parents have a right to know what is going on inside the schools we send our children to. We have a right to know who is being trusted—and paid—to educate them. And we absolutely have a right to expect they are SAFE.

Supervising children while under the influence is not safe. And covering it up is unacceptable.

We are angry. And we demand answers!
