Is it only the coach’s kids who are still able to play when they are academically ineligible? Or does Corning-Painted Post School District allow all academically ineligible athletes to play? We just want to ensure that everyone plays by the same rules. It becomes concerning when there are so many inconsistencies.

When we can’t hold our students to consistent standards, how are we holding teachers and coaches to consistent standards?

Does anyone know someone who has been academically ineligible but still somehow eligible to play?

It’s time to start talking about the budget and what we are going to do so that it does NOT pass this year! The Dean of Students at Corning-Painted Post Middle School, Keenan Tolbert, who was recently hired as the high school’s head baseball coach, can reportedly be heard directing obscene and inappropriate language toward one of his players—who has also been identified as his son.

It has further been reported that the Athletic Director, Rebecca Gentile, has not taken disciplinary action against the coach, but has instead chosen to discipline and suspend a parent who spoke up in defense of the student.

Our students deserve to be protected. With ongoing concerns surrounding alcohol and drug issues, and now incidents like this, it is critical that accountability and student safety remain the top priority.

More information will be shared as it becomes available.

Is it accurate that the middle school teacher who was previously found consuming alcohol on school grounds (on at least two separate occassions) is returning to the classroom tomorrow? Can the district confirm whether he will be teaching students again?

As parents, we deserve clarity and transparency when it comes to who is responsible for our children during the school day.
