Absolutely inspiring event!

CORNING, NY — REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR D3DAY 2026!

Disability Dream & Do (D3Day) is coming home to Corning on Saturday, September 26, in partnership with Corning Community College and the CCC Red Barons!

D3Day is a FREE inclusive sports experience for children and young adults with disabilities. It’s a morning built around encouragement, participation, confidence and belonging—where we focus on possibilities, not disabilities.

We’re also excited to welcome Corning’s own Dave Clark, founder of D3Day, back home for this special event, along with Dave Stevens, the only athlete to play both college football and minor league baseball without legs and a seven-time Emmy Award-winning sportscaster.

⚾️College Prospect Showcase⚾️
New Corning Community Baseball Head Coach, Joe Horn, is putting together a Prospect Showcase Day on Sunday Oct 25, on the campus of CCC.

Schools confirmed, so far:
- CCC
- Misericordia University
- Elmira College
- Houghton University
- PITT Bradford

ENTIRE facility only $120 for 1.5hrs. $150 if have two teams to share the space. 13 dedicated stations & lanes!

Maybe she doesn't need another lesson.

Maybe she needs an afternoon with absolutely nothing on the calendar.

No practice.

No hitting cage.

No pitching lesson.

No tournament.

No coach telling her what to fix.

No parent reminding her what she should be working on.

Just… a kid being a kid.

Because somewhere along the way, youth softball became very good at convincing us that more is always better.

More reps.

More tournaments.

More teams.

More exposure.

More training.

And as parents, it's hard not to worry.

What if everyone else is practicing and she isn't?

What if she falls behind?

What if we're not doing enough?

But here's another question worth asking:

What if she never gets enough space to miss the game?

Remember when she used to grab her glove because she wanted to?

When she'd ask Dad to throw with her in the backyard?

When hitting wasn't something scheduled between 6:00 and 7:00…

it was just something she thought sounded fun?

That matters too.

Our girls need coaches.

They need repetition.

They need challenge.

But they also need birthdays.

Sleepovers.

Swimming pools.

Lazy Saturdays.

Other sports.

And occasionally an entire weekend where nobody in the family has to locate a pair of softball socks. 😂

Taking a break doesn't mean she isn't serious.

Playing another sport doesn't mean she's falling behind.

And an empty square on the family calendar isn't wasted development.

Sometimes rest protects the very thing we're working so hard to build:

her love for the game.

Because the goal isn't just to raise a girl who can play softball.

It's to raise a girl who still wants to.

The Retail Shop will be open this Friday, 21st (while we work with a team) from 4-7pm if you need anything. Come check out the clearance bats and some of the new 2027 bats. We also have many bats under $150 & $100 too. Plus we have a wall full of fielding gloves!

We cannot keep up with the demand 🥵, and we want to stay ahead of it so we are looking for an additional, experienced softball pitching instructor to join the Sandlot Family in the fall. Make your own hours. We can keep you busy!
