Wednesday we rounded out our day camps with sensory day! Campers explored the five different senses of taste, touch, smell, hearing and sight.

We guessed what was in our "mystery bags", played with play dough, gave stamp art a try, and finally ate some tasty snacks! It was a perfect way to wrap up our summer camps, we can't wait for next summer!!😊

Preserves, jellies, and jams, oh my! Tuesday we hosted our jam making camp! Participants learned about the different types of canning, what supplies to use, and the science behind how it all works!

Campers washed and prepared the kitchen, jars and lids. They carefully cut up the fruit and mashed it all up. Then added A LOT of sugar! Once their jam was cooked, they learned how to carefully measure out the right amount of jam into jars and used the hot bath canning method to preserve it!

It was a fun (but sticky) day and each camper got to take home two jars of their very own jam! A huge thank you to Montgomery County's very own Ashley Wilson for our jam lesson!

Last Thursday was a day full of fairytale adventures! Campers got to fully immerse themselves into our book by trying a tasty treat of chips and salsa.

We also got a full tour of the library from librarian Alyssa Ogburn! Finally, we colored bookmarks and tackled library bingo. It was a wonderful afternoon full of literature!

Huge shoutout and a BIG thank you to the Corning Public Library for letting us use your space!

Join us this Thursday evening for more information on creating a farmland leasing arrangement. This workshop will be helpful to both landowners and tenants.

🚫 What you WON'T learn at this meeting: how much you should charge/pay per acre.

👍What you WILL learn: how to sit down with your tenant/landlord to develop a lease that works for both of you and how to keep lines of communication open. Plus you will receive a Farmland Leasing handbook with lots of examples and reference information.
