•Wednesday- Graduation, 5pm in the Sanctuary…please arrive and drop off children in their classrooms no later than 4:45pm

Water Fun

This was our last full week of preschool. Our classes had so much fun with water activities, bubbles, chalk, spray bottles…. The weather was amazing so we spent a lot of time outdoors. We even had outside Chapel.

Mt Zion UMC is hosting its 3rd annual “Book Drive” in partnership with Promising Pages, an organization that collects and distributes books to under-resourced families, schools, and child-serving organizations.

We are asking Sonshine Families to donate new or gently used books to help out! There is a bin by the front office…drop off books through the last day of school May 20th!! Thank you😊

Dinosaurs!!

ROAR!!! Dinosaur week was EPIC! Classes watched dinosaurs “hatch” out of eggs, used droppers together dinosaurs out of ice, pretended to be paleontologists, painted dinosaurs, made dinosaur tails and masks, and headpieces…. As you can see it was a fun and busy week.

Snakes, Frogs and Turtles. “…. You must not eat from the fruit of the tree of knowledge…”. Genesis 2:17

All of our kiddos loved this theme. Learning about snakes, frogs and turtles was a lot of fun! We had a visit from Quest Nature Center and we saw 2 live turtles and learned about many different types of turtles. We learned about the differences between reptiles and amphibians. Two turtle facts we learned are: 1. If we see a turtle crossing the road tell a grown up (if it is safe) to put the turtle safely off the road in the direction it was facing and moving towards. Don’t switch the direction or it will more than likely turn around and cross to them side it originally was heading towards. 2. Don’t bring a turtle home as a “pet”. Just look at it and leave it in its home environment. Thanks Quest for a great visit and for teaching us so much.

Hello Spring/Easter

What a beautiful week! We saw our caterpillars turn into chrysalis. Some classes planted flowers and others arranged or drew flowers. All of our classes are learning the Easter story and should be able to share at home. All of our staff was blessed with Teacher Appreciation Week. We all loved the cards, the flowers, special treats and the delicious Bagel Bin lunch provided by a group of parents. Thank you to all for making everyone feel loved and extra special this week.
