The Bailey Singers is an auditioned group of 40 middle school students from Bailey Middle School in Cornelius, North Carolina. The Singers were founded and are currently led by CMS music teacher, Mr. Patrick McCarthy, a native of Westbrook, Maine, who has taught music for the past 16 years. Established in 2012, the Singers rehearse four mornings a week, before classes, to hone their craft. Under t

he tutelage of Mr. McCarthy, a writer, composer, musician, director and arranger, the Singers have become one of Charlotte’s premiere vocal youth groups who perform a wide variety of repertoire; performing in and around the greater Charlotte area at schools, community events and ticketed performances. McCarthy aims to build the musicianship skills needed, in these talented singers, to get the most out of their experience, and to inspire and foster a love of singing that they may carry with them throughout their lives. In addition, his desire to keep the love of music alive in the hearts of this generation propels him to work tirelessly as he both trains and serve these youth beyond his level of employment as a music teacher. In just three years, this dedication has afforded the Singers opportunities to travel as far as Orlando, FL, for music festivals, as well as performance opportunities from local prestigious destinations such as the Charlotte Motor Speedway and Carowinds Amusement Park. Their blend and ex*****on of complicated original arrangements and existing musical works continues to open doors for them to grace the community and do what they love best; lifting their voices in harmony for the world to hear!
