NEMCC's CNC Machinist Course is a 96-hour, hands-on program designed to build real decision-making skills based on machine outputs. You'll learn to:

✅ Make adjustments, perform offsets, and read prints with precision
✅ Use precision measuring instruments
✅ Master advanced print reading, GD&T, and surface finish
✅ Set up and adjust CNC tools, troubleshoot, and probe (including Renshaw probe calibration)
✅ Work with CNC G-coding, micro programming, CAD/CAM, and post-processing

Jon Lane, a senior at Wheeler School, recently met with career coach Rae Garner and took an exciting step toward his future by enrolling in NEMCC’s 45-hour Commercial and Residential Wiring workforce training class.

Beginning in August, Jon will gain valuable hands-on experience and practical skills that will help prepare him for employment after graduation. He’s already looking ahead and is interested in enrolling in another workforce training class this spring to continue building his knowledge and opportunities.

It’s exciting to see students like Jon investing in their future. Taking that first step on a career journey is so important, and I can’t wait to see where this path leads him. Congratulations, Jon, and best of luck as you begin this new chapter!

Northeast Mississippi Community College is now enrolling for our new Aerospace Fabrication & Assembly (AFAB) Program, a structured training pathway designed to prepare participants with the hands on skills employers are looking for.

The program begins with the required Intro to Assembly & Fabrication course, where you’ll learn foundational manufacturing skills including:
• Print reading
• Precision measuring
• Drilling and countersinking
• Fastening techniques
• Assembly of aerospace structures and systems

After completing the introductory course, you can continue through the remaining program modules in any order:
✔ Quality Systems & Machining
✔ Electrical Systems Integration
