Our school has been working to revise our former mission statement to the newly developed Core Values, Beliefs, and Learning Expectations. This process included members from the community, school board, staff, parents, and students. The Core Values, Beliefs, and Learning Expectations committee developed their statement based upon the work of this group so that it reflects the values and beliefs of
the entire school community. In addition to the statement of beliefs, our school has developed academic, civic, and social expectations for our students. Our curriculum reflects opportunities for students to practice these skills and show proficiency in all of the expectations. As we move toward a standards-based diploma, the Core Values, Beliefs, and Learning Expectations will lay the foundation for our students to become proficient 21st century learners and, thus, be prepared for college and careers. We hope that our parents and greater community joins us in embracing the academic, civic, and social skills that we have developed to support the continued growth of our students. We welcome input from all of our constituents so that we can continue to grow and improve. It is only by working together that we can make our school a safe, respectful, and healthy venue where our students can achieve their future goals.
