Cultural Week is coming up September 21–25, and the Native Village of Eyak Cultural Department is looking for volunteers to help make the week a fun and meaningful experience for our students.
We have several opportunities to lend a hand:
Craft Classroom Helpers – Monday–Thursday: Our craft leaders will be teaching cultural activities in the classrooms, and we need extra sets of hands to help students with their projects, pass out supplies, and assist the craft leaders. No teaching or craft experience is needed!
NYO Activity Helpers – Monday–Thursday: Adult volunteers are needed to assist NYO Leader Ricky Reilly as groups of students rotate through activity stations in the gym. Help us keep activities organized and moving smoothly!
Traditional Foods Tasting – Friday, September 25, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.: Help portion and serve traditional food samples to students during three lunch periods. Some light food preparation and cleanup may be involved.
We would love to have Mt. Eccles families join us! You do not need to be an expert or have previous experience to volunteer. Whether you can help with a craft, help students move through activities, or lend a hand serving traditional foods, your participation will help make Cultural Week special for our students.
