🔴🐾 2026-2027 Corbin Middle School Student Council!

These amazing young men and women are the elected student council for CMS!

Our goal is to let our students take part in the Democratic process with a representative student government.

To that end, all candidates went through a rigorous application process and even gave speeches to their grade levels in order to make a case for their candidacy. The students pictured here were voted in by their peers!

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Congratulations to our Corbin Middle School Cross Country team on an outstanding performance at Region!

The Running Redhounds had a great day, with our boys team finishing 2nd overall!

Boys Race:
🏅 Josiah Evans — 1st Place
🥉 Alex Tremaine — 3rd Place
🏅 Kayden Lockridge — 5th Place

Girls Race:
🏅 Maggie Collett — 9th Place

We are proud of all of our boys and girls for the hard work, effort, and determination they showed at Region.

🍭🐾 THE CANDY RACE IS ON! 🐾🍭

Monday, October 5 through Thursday, October 8, we are collecting candy for our upcoming Fall Festival on October 13th!

Every piece of candy counts. Bring candy to your A&A homeroom each day and help your grade level build the biggest candy collection.

IMPORTANT CANDY REQUIREMENTS:
• Candy must be individually wrapped.
• Candy must not dotson any peanuts or other nuts.

On Friday, will weigh the candy from each grade level at our morning assembly!

The grade level with the most candy will earn 15 points for both teams toward their Team Belt totals!

Who will bring the most?

More candy means more points, and more candy means an even better Fall Festival for our students.

Tuesday, Oct. 6: Candy Corn Colors
• 6th Grade: Yellow
• 7th Grade: Orange
• 8th Grade: White

Wednesday, Oct. 7: Picture Day - Dress Your Best!

Thursday, Oct. 8: Fall Flannel

Friday, Oct. 9: Cozy Day!

Yes, you can wear sweatpants!!! No pajamas. We’re saving that for Christmas 😁

Then we keep the fun going next week:

Monday, Oct. 12: Halloween Shirts

Tuesday, Oct. 13: Future Career Costume

⚠️🐾 🚦 With weekend weather approaching, it’s a reminder that you don’t always need a motivational speaker; sometimes you just need a traffic cone.

The cone doesn’t leave its post, whether rain or shine. It’s a reminder that every storm ends… some just last longer and involve people running over you despite your obvious and consistent location.

You know, that old ancient fable “The Curb and the Traffic Cone” whose moral teaches us that getting run over never gets easier, but you’ll get over it. Keep keepin’ on.

👮🧑‍⚕️🧑‍🍳 What an incredible day at CMS as we hosted our first annual Career Fair!

Students got to explore over 30 professions with real professionals from the field, engaging in hands on exploration.

We cannot put into words our gratitude to the professionals who showed up today to give our students this experience. We appreciate you more than you know!

Also, a HUGE shout out to Tasha Mullins, our H.E.A.R.T Parent Group Lead, for having the vision, planning, and organization to pull this off in a way that profoundly impacted our students learning. Huge shout out to our H.E.A.R.T parent volunteers who assisted as well!

This day could be what inspires a students hopes and dreams for the future. In this way, it cannot be understated in its level of impact.

We can’t wait to make this a CMS staple in the years to come! 👮🧑‍🍳🧑‍⚕️

‼️⛔️⚠️ Team Belt Update ⚠️⛔️‼️

As September comes to a close, our Teams have locked in their September earnings for their Team Belt scores for the BIG 3:
— Attendance
— Reading
— Behavior

Each month, teams can earn points for these three categories as well as through special events like our Fall Festival Candy Race coming up next week and Team Olympics coming up in November!

The challenge has just begun, and the battle is heating up!!!

Who will take the lead in October?!?! Stay tuned to find out!
