Hope Home Education Center

Hope Home Education Center Hope Home Education Center meets once a week, with the goal of assisting and supporting homeschooling families as they educate their children at home.

We meet on Fridays from 10:00 to 1:30. We are currently staffed with 7 teachers and have about 50 children from grades K-12 in enrollment. Our year is broken down into 3 semesters. In the first 2 semesters, we study a topic. At the end of each semester, we have a Parents Night where we present what we learned. The third semester, we publish a yearbook, and have a lot of special days. We end the th

ird semester with a Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony night. (cap and gown graduation for seniors). Our day is as follows:
10:00-10:40 - Chapel
10:40-11:20 - first period (music for upper students, classroom for 6th/7th grade and under)
11:20-12:00 - second period (art for upper students, classroom for 6th/7th and under)
12:00-12:30 - lunch
12:30-1:30 - semester topic study as a group and/or special events

We divide the children by grade/age/ability into separate classes. The two morning class times for grades K - 6 or 7 will usually be related to the topic of study for the semester in some way (arts & crafts, writing & literature, science projects, cooking/baking, etc) OR will be seasonal (Mother's Day, Valentines day, etc). Music class for 7th/8th grade and up teaches about the life and music of classical composers and evaluates them based on a Godly standard.
