Hi families,
We will be under an extreme heat advisory through Wednesday night, and UV levels will be extremely high. We’ll be staying indoors under the AC to keep all the kiddos cool, comfortable, and safe.
Please make sure you’re staying hydrated, drinking plenty of water, and replenishing electrolytes. This heat can drain you quickly, and I want all my parents feeling good and able to keep up with your little ones.
Here are a few things to look out for in young children when it comes to dehydration:
- Dry mouth and lips
- Fewer wet diapers or darker urine
- Extra fussiness or tiredness
- Sunken eyes or looking more tired than usual
- Cool, clammy skin
- Not wanting to drink or refusing water
If you notice any of these signs, cool them down and hydrate them right away.
Thank you for helping keep our babies safe during this heat. Please reach out if you need anything.
Warmly,
Mrs. Dee💛
