At Special Needs: Assistive Technology, Advocacy, Education, & the Law, we offer a full array of services to meet your child's (Birth- Adult) special needs. In addition to psychiatric and psychological services, we provide full educational and special needs services. We can evaluate your child's needs and determine the necessary steps to insure your child's success in his or her educational and psychosocial development, and the tools to positively intervene. We are able to offer you a comprehensive set of services to assist your child all in school, at home, in social settings, and through transitions to higher education. We will coordinate care with your child's primary care physician, school, teachers and any other individual or organizations that are working with your child. Managing medications, psychological counseling and educational needs can be a daunting task. However, with our ability to coordinate your child's care we can help make it easier. Advocacy is essential to obtain the rightful services, accomodations, modifications, equipment, and environment to ensure through Federal, State, and Local governmental laws that your family member is receiving what he/she needs to maximize successes and independent living.

The National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) exists to educate, advocate, empower, and inspire on behalf of people with Down syndrome and the families and communities who support them. Our vision is a world where all people with Down syndrome are valued, included, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

TRUTH BOMB:
To anger an honest person, lie to them. It’s not just about breaking trust—it’s about violating the very code they live by. Every fiber of their being recoils at deception. Their eyes search for sincerity, their heart expects consistency, their mind recognizes patterns of truth, and when you shatter that with a lie, it’s not just disappointment—they feel betrayed, unsettled, and deeply wounded. Lies stick in their memory like splinters, and they carry that awareness forever.

To anger a narcissist, tell them the truth. Not a soft truth, not a convenient half-truth, but the kind that lays bare their lies, their games, their ego-driven illusions. They cannot stomach it because it punctures the carefully constructed world where they are always right, always the victim, always admired. They will rage, deny, twist your words, and attempt to rewrite reality—but no amount of charm, manipulation, or spin can erase the sting of being confronted with facts they cannot control.

Honesty is more than a virtue—it’s a force. It can hurt, it can liberate, it can expose, and it can illuminate. Some people fear it because it challenges them, some embrace it because it aligns with who they are. And recognizing which is which? That knowledge is your quiet, unstoppable power.
