Malachi Acres is officially Strangles free!

Wow, what a week.

Smokey tested negative for Strangles.

We erred on the side of over caution. Posted the possibility of this infectious disease with our communities best interests at heart. We need to keep each other aware, and informed, to protect these glorious horses we are so blessed to have in our lives.

I am keeping some protocols in place. Especially not coming from, or going to another barn on the same day.

Our team has been phenomenal with following all safety measures. It’s been very hard, but not one complaint. The safety of the herd always #1.

Possible Strangles at Malachi Acres 😞 One of our herd members presented with a fever on Saturday. He was immediately quarantine 100 feet from our barn. We are following full protection protocol. Lesson horses are not impacted. Everyone who comes on property is made aware.
We are still open and had a wonderful first day of camp. Please feel free to ask any questions. Publicly or pm.

As Dressage riders and competitors, we are subject to the rules of the game. These Rules are issued by the USEF and undergo an extensive process before they are implemented.

Some of the proposed rules are:
DR 120.4 - Only smooth rowels are permitted on spurs
DR 121 - No double bridles at 3rd level
DR 122.3 - Limit penalties for use of voice
And many more

It is our responsibility to know the future of the rules and have a voice.

The current comment period for proposed rules closes May 31ST!!! That is 16 days away!!
