What started eight years ago as the first unified cheer squad in MDCPS has grown into an extraordinary community built on teamwork, friendship, and inclusion. Kaitlyn was just featured on CBS Miami and we couldn't be more proud.

When the world comes to Miami for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, one UM alum will be making sure the impact lasts long after the final whistle. ๐ŸŒŽโšฝ

Jennifer Roche, M.S. Sport Administration '16, serves as Director of Community and Legacy for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee โ€” using the world's biggest sporting event as a catalyst for social change across South Florida.

From organizing soccer clinics in Little Havana and Little Haiti to expanding blind soccer programming and building a new community field in Miami Gardens, Jennifer is proof that a career in sport can be a force for good.

The hurricane cone of uncertainty is getting a brand-new look and UM research is behind it. Dr. Scotney Evans' interdisciplinary team studied how the public interprets this iconic graphic, and their findings are driving real change at the National Hurricane Center. Our students showed up and showed out at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’ช

Eight exercise physiology doctoral students, one MSAT student, and one DPT student led research projects resulting in 18 abstracts presented at the conference โ€” 11 of which were presented by undergraduate first authors. That's not just impressive, that's extraordinary.
