Before students filled our classrooms, our faculty and staff spent the week learning, planning, reflecting, and growing together. Here’s a look inside Pre-Planning Week as we prepared for another year of nurturing spirit, challenging minds, and inspiring confidence at St. Thomas.
During our New Faculty Orientation, Associate Head of School Holli Scharinger and other administrators and staff members shared insights into the many aspects of professional life at St. Thomas. A group of veteran teachers called “TNT” (Team New Teacher) served as mentors and shared practical guidance to help our newest educators feel confident and prepared for the year ahead.
A guided tour of our 6+ acre campus from Director of Admission Maria Amor introduced our newest faculty members to the spaces, programs, and traditions that help make St. Thomas such a special place to learn and teach.
Our faculty and staff were thrilled to virtually welcome author Jennifer Wallace to officially kick off the school year! She facilitated an impactful discussion centered around the power of mattering and how helping students feel valued, and add value themselves, shapes thriving school communities.
Instructional Coach Dr. Nicole Del Oso shared key insights from her summer analysis of student learning data, helping guide our instructional priorities for the year ahead.
Faculty and staff gathered for our Annual Giving Campaign kickoff, led by Chief Advancement Officer Vicky Castro, celebrating the generosity of those who bring our mission to life everyday.
St. Thomas was honored to welcome Kevin Grace, Executive Director of Miami Learning Experience. During his presentation, he shared insights on the importance of whole-child education for students with intellectual disabilities and creating opportunities for all learners to grow and succeed.
With new ideas, renewed energy, and a shared commitment to every student, our faculty and staff are ready for an incredible year of learning, growth, and connection. Here’s to a wonderful school year at St. Thomas!
