Congrats to our own Iara Dircie for completing successful summer externship at Gunster!

“This experience has helped me see what day-to-day practice actually looks like, which has been really helpful in shaping my goals.”

This summer, 3L Iara Dircie—Student Bar Association president & member of the Cardozo Jewish Legal Society and Hispanic Law Student Association—was a summer associate with Gunster, an opportunity she learned about from the Office of Career and Professional Development. Her responsibilities include supporting attorneys on active cases through legal research and writing, helping with motions and analyzing case law related to commercial disputes, contracts, and fiduciary duties.

“The most rewarding part of the internship so far has definitely been those ‘aha’ moments during legal research—when I finally find the exact case I’ve been searching for. One of the great things about Gunster’s summer program is that it’s designed to give us exposure to a wide range of practice areas. In addition to business litigation, I’ve also worked on matters involving probate litigation, corporate transactions, and employment law. I’ve realized that I enjoy the analytical side of litigation, especially legal research and figuring out how the law applies to complex facts.”
