University of Miami Aquarium Club (UMAC)

This past weekend, some of our members spent some time at the Florida Aquarium! We had a great time going behind the scenes with a UMAC alumni and taking in all the neat tanks.

Hope to see you at our meeting tomorrow, March 21st @7:30 in Cox 184! We’ll be having a short presentation introducing Sanjay Joshi, the presenter for this week’s FMAS meeting!

Speaking of... UMAC will be hosting the Florida Marine Aquarium Society this Saturday March 23rd in Cox 145 at 11 am! Come out to hear a wonderful talk about the aquarium hobby!

Lastly, our spring trip is here! We’re headed to Tampa April 20-21st. If you’re interested, send us an email or contact an officer.

Check out these great opportunities to get involved with MASNA as well as the 2019 MACNA conference! These positions would be a great way to connect and network in the marine aquarium world!

Hope everyone had fun this weekend on our seining trip! We caught some baby barracuda, a bunch of crabs, parrot fish, and a smooth butterfly ray, along with many other species.

Come out to our meeting this Thursday at 7:30 in Cox 184! This week’s topic is collecting. We will go over some techniques and some of the critters you might come across. We will also be discussing when our field trip to go collecting will be along with sign-ups, so you won’t want to miss it.

Hope to see everyone at our meeting tonight at 7:30 in Cox 184! This meeting focuses on tank setup and everything that goes into the process, from cycling to aquascaping.

Such a fun weekend with some members in Las Vegas attending the Marine Aquarium Conference of North America! We did some great networking, and hope to have exciting things coming soon!
