The Department of Physical Therapy offers two doctoral level degrees; a three year, entry level clinical doctoral degree the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and an academic doctoral degree (PhD) in Physical Therapy.

Last Thursday, our class of 2028 took their next monumental step in their journey towards becoming Doctors of Physical Therapy.
The white coat ceremony serves as an outward sign of UMPT’s confidence in these developing clinicians as they prepare for their first clinical rotations this fall.
To the class of 2028, we wish you all the best. We know great things are in store, and this is merely the beginning.

We are beyond excited for our class of 2026 as they take their next steps as Doctors of Physical therapy. Although there time in the classroom has concluded, the will always be part of the UMPT family.
