Senior Spotlight: Second Lieutenant Maya Miller
Second Lieutenant Miller is from Maryland, and just graduated with a double major in computer science and broadcast journalism. In her free time she enjoys slacklining. Her favorite memory in AFROTC was the Lime Cup sports tournament her freshman year. Lt Miller has been selected to be a Combat Systems Officer (CSO). Best of luck to Lt Miller!

Senior Spotlight: 2d Lt Cameron Byrd
Second Lieutenant Byrd is from Williamsburg, VA and just graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Lt Byrd was this years Det 155 distinguished graduate. In his free time he enjoys skydiving, scuba diving, and producing music. One of his favorite memories in AFROTC was the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station base visit where the detachment got to see an Atlas V rocket directly before launch. Lt Byrd has been selected to attend Euro-Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) where he will train to become an Air Force Pilot. Best of luck to Lt Byrd!

Senior Spotlight: Cadet Elizabeth Stevenson
Cadet Stevenson is from Pembroke Pines, FL and is studying Asian Studies & Japanese Language at Florida International University. She enjoys traveling in her free time. One of her favorite memories in AFROTC was running the Detachment’s mentorship program her junior year. Cadet Stevenson has been selected to be an Intelligence Officer. Senior Spotlight: Cadet Alejandro Escudero
Cadet Escudero was born and raised in Peru and came to the United States 10 years ago. He studies Human Resources at Florida International University. In his free time he likes to spend time with his family. One of his favorite memories in AFROTC was being selected to attend field training. His advice to other cadets is "AFROTC is a program that will test you all the time. However, if you keep focus you will achieve your goal. Be ready to learn how to balance all your responsibilities." Cadet Escudero has been selected to be an Acquisition Officer. Best of luck to Cadet Alejandro Escudero!

When Detachment 155 Cadets and Cadre went to the 2020 Air Warfare Symposium in Orlando last month. At this event, attendees heard from keynote industry leadership on the future of the air, space, and cyberspace domain.

Senior Spotlight: Cadet Andre Hwang
Cadet Hwang is from Miramar, FL and is studying Logistics & Supply Chain Management at Florida International University. He enjoys running, reading, and playing tennis. His advice to others is: “Be empathetic towards everyone you meet. ROTC has exposed me to people from all across the globe with different stories to tell. As a leader, it is our duty to be able to guide them in the direction that’s most meaningful and appropriate for their success as each person may face different challenges throughout their life that may require help from their leadership.” Cadet Hwang has been selected to be a 65FX Financial Management Officer. Yesterday, we held a promotion ceremony for our Operations Flight Commander, Major Shon Reckard! This marked the impressive transition from Company Grade Officer to Field Grade Officer. In addition, some of the high-performing POC cadets were also promoted within the cadet ranks. Congratulations Aces!
