The University of Miami Chess Club (UMCC) is the official, 'student organization' for chess players and chess supporters of all levels and strengths, from beginners to 'Grandmasters'. The UMCC represents the University of Miami in different tournaments, linking UMCC members to chess players around the world. The UMCC play chess, both recreational and competitively and

we also attend competitions, both locally and nationally, but one of the UMCC's most important characteristics is volunteering to teach chess to school children. Members with no experience can learn the rules and principles of the game with UMCC members in a friendly environment.
