The Class of 2026 seniors returned to walk the halls of the junior high school they attended four years ago!

The seniors performed a rally for our 8th graders, giving them something exciting to look forward to as they continue their own journey toward graduation. They then paraded through the hallways while students and staff cheered them on, celebrated their accomplishments, and held up handmade congratulatory signs.

It was such an awesome event filled with pride, encouragement, and unforgettable memories. Our seniors absolutely loved it, and it was a great reminder that hard work, perseverance, and determination truly pay off!

Today marks the end of an incredible school year at S.C. Lee Junior High. While summer brings excitement and well-deserved rest, there’s also a bittersweet feeling that comes with saying goodbye to the daily moments that make our school so special.

For our staff, one of the greatest joys is building relationships and creating a sense of belonging for our students each and every day.

Few embodied that spirit more than our beloved technology teacher, Mr. Wayne Knutson. For the past nine months, Mr. Knutson has been the first friendly face many students saw each morning - delivering more than 500 daily fist bumps (yes, we counted!).

Thousands of greetings later, his consistency, kindness, and positivity helped make S.C. Lee feel like home for so many students.

We will miss our students deeply and the opportunity to continue building those meaningful connections each day. But for now, it’s time to rest, recharge, and reset for the 2026–2027 school year.

Thank you to every student, staff member, and family who helped make S.C. Lee a place where growth, opportunity, and connection thrive - one fist bump at a time. 👊

The administrators and staff hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer break.

The S.C. Lee National Junior Honor Society Chapter, students, families, and staff recently gathered to celebrate the NJHS Induction Ceremony and recognize a new group of outstanding student leaders. The ceremony honored students who demonstrate excellence in the five pillars of the National Junior Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. These qualities represent the values that NJHS members strive to uphold both in school and throughout the community.

Throughout the school year, NJHS members at S.C. Lee Jr. High worked hard to make a positive impact on others through a variety of service projects and community events. Students participated in campus and community trash clean-ups, organized food drives and toy drives for local families, supported veterans through the Wreaths Across America program, promoted autism awareness, and provided peer-to-peer tutoring to help fellow students succeed academically. Members also volunteered in many additional activities that supported both the school and the greater community.

The induction ceremony not only celebrated the accomplishments of current members, but also welcomed a new class of inductees who have already shown dedication to serving others and leading by example. Faculty sponsors and families expressed pride in the students’ hard work, compassion, and commitment to excellence.

S.C. Lee Jr. High is incredibly proud of all the new inductees and looks forward to seeing the wonderful things these students will accomplish next year as they continue to grow as leaders and role models in their school and community.

These 8th grade students showed what it means to work hard, stay focused, and strive for success every single day. We are so proud of their determination and accomplishments!
