We wrapped up Start with Hello Week today with Jersey & Spirit Day! Our students showed off their school spirit by repping their favorite sports teams or their CCISD spirit gear! 💙💛 What a fun way to end an amazing week focused on kindness, connection, and making sure everyone feels seen and included. 💚🫂

While our Start with Hello Week dress-up days are officially over, kindness doesn’t have to stop here at WLE! Let’s continue saying hello, including others, showing kindness, and reminding those around us that they matter. 💙💛

This morning, our WLE Student Council kicked off their Pawprint Tattoo Fundraiser! Students who brought in money were able to show their WLE spirit by getting a fun pawprint tattooed on them by StuCo! 🐾💙💛

A special shoutout to Mrs. Whitfield and Mrs. Rutherford, who lead and support our amazing StuCo students! We are so grateful for the time and dedication they pour into helping our students grow as leaders. 💙

And a huge thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who came out this morning to assist StuCo! We appreciate your continued support of our students and school community! 🐾

Fun Friday Learning with Mrs. Sandoval! 📚✂️

Mrs. Sandoval's High school helper, Ms. Jaliyah, joined 1st graders for a fun game of UFLI Roll & Read! 🎲📖 Students are building on their understanding when a one-syllable word has a short vowel and ends in f, l, s, or z, we double the final letter!
Students also practiced using scissors responsibly while sequencing the events of the story "Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon", combining reading comprehension, fine-motor skills, and storytelling! 💙💛🐾

Start With Hello Week - Camo Day🪖

Today, our students and staff dressed the part for Camo Day as we came together to spread an important message: No one should feel invisible🫂

Just like camouflage can make someone blend into their surroundings, people can sometimes feel unseen or unnoticed. Today was a reminder to look around, reach out, say hello, and make sure everyone feels seen, welcomed, and included. 💙💛

Mrs. Williams’ Kindergarten class is working on their cutting skills through a fun, hands-on activity! As our little learners practice using scissors, they are also learning important scissor safety protocols along with it.

Students also develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, hand strength, and control, all of which are fundamental skills that support future writing and classroom tasks!

We love watching our Bulldawgs build confidence and independence while learning through hands-on experiences! 🤩✂💙💛

Every day at school is another opportunity to learn, grow, and connect! Our campus attendance goal is 97%, and last week two grade levels exceeded that goal! 🎉

👏 4th Grade led the way with 97.58%, followed closely by 3rd Grade with 97.55%!

⭐ 5th Grade – 96.43%
⭐ 1st Grade – 95.39%
⭐ 2nd Grade – 94.41%
⭐ Kindergarten – 93.15%
