🐾 Attendance Matters at Halstead! 💙💛

Every day at school is another opportunity to learn, grow, belong, and succeed! Our campus attendance for September 14–18 was 95.62%, and we’re continuing to work toward our goal of 100% attendance.

🍿 Congratulations to 3rd Grade! They earned the highest attendance for the first six weeks and will celebrate with a Popcorn Party! Way to show up, 3rd Grade!

⭐ We’re also excited to recognize all students who had PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the first six weeks on September 23! We can’t wait to celebrate their commitment to being at school every day.

Hettie Halstead Elementary celebrated our first Pep Rally, and EVERYONE showed their bulldawg pride! The students were loud and proud dawgs! Dr. Sweeney led the pack with such enthusiasm and had everyone cheering with excitement. There was an epic (friendly) duel between two AMAZING teachers, Mrs. Colon and Mrs. Knox! One of our fantastic second grade teachers, Mr. Keller, was awarded Teacher of the 6 Weeks! Two of our wonderful paras, Mrs. Cross and Mrs. Quiñones, were recognized as Para of the 6 Weeks! Our Student Council President was announced, and 5 of our students were presented with the Principal Award! This was an incredible day at Hettie Halstead Elementary!

💙💛 Start With Hello Week is coming to Hettie Halstead! 💛💙

September 21–25, our Bulldawgs will focus on kindness, connection, friendship, and making sure everyone feels like they belong. Each day will include a simple activity and a fun dress-up theme to help us build an even more welcoming school community.

👋 A simple “Hello!” can make a BIG difference. We can’t wait to see our Bulldawgs reaching out, including others, and showing kindness all week long!

International Dot Day, which started in 2009, is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and self-expression. Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot, International Dot Day encourages people of all ages to embrace their creativity, take small steps toward self-expression, and support one another in making their mark. Our fabulous librarian, Mrs. McIntire, made this International Dot Day one to remember! Our staff and students hope to inspire everyone to make their mark! Get creative, Bulldawgs!
