Students today are balancing academics, activities, social pressures, and big decisions about their future. Parents are managing timelines, finances, and the desire to help their child make the “right” choices. It can feel overwhelming for everyone involved.

One reminder I share with families often: there is no perfect path, and there is no prize for navigating this process under constant stress.

Take breaks. Celebrate small wins. Ask for help when you need it. Protecting mental health is just as important as planning for academic and financial success.

Because college planning is not only about preparing for the next chapter, but also about supporting the whole person along the way.

A mother’s day often looks like:
Late-night conversations.
Encouraging words after disappointing news.
And celebrating every milestone along the way.

Today, we celebrate the moms, grandmothers, foster moms, stepmoms, aunts, and other women in our lives who care for us unconditionally and help us navigate some of life’s biggest decisions with love, patience, and unwavering support.

Teacher Appreciation Week reminds us that behind every confident student is often a teacher who saw potential before anyone else did.
