Congratulations to Dr. Razi Kebriaei! 🤩

Dr. Kebriaei, assistant professor, received a $3.7 million research grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for her research on the cefazolin inoculum effect (CzIE).

CzIE can potentially reduce the effectiveness of cefazolin, a commonly used antibiotic to treat methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) infections.

Through a study involving 10 medical centers across the U.S., Dr. Kebriaei and collaborators will examine the prevalence, underlying mechanisms and clinical consequences of CzIE.
