By the logo alone I’m sure it is self evident where The Sword Lynx stands with regard to the LGBT community, but some days being unambiguous and straightforward is needed and wanted. The channel is in full support of our q***r community especially our trans brothers and sisters and what-have-yous. All the trans folk in my life are the embodiment of grace, compassion, and skill, including my first HEMA instructor, colleagues within the Gumdo and HEMA community, and close friends.

Some might ask what does all this rainbow stuff have to do with swordsmanship except for all the stuff you just mentioned. Surprising maybe five people total, I am also a member of the q***r community.

The main reason I bring it up is visibility. I think simply knowing you’re not alone with whatever you’re struggling to understand or seeing that we’re out here in the world can be reassuring. Personally, seeing some folk I admire online coming out especially as Ace has been transformative for me, so in the event it helps anyone out there, here’s a gay, ace person doing his best to spread sword knowledge.

As a friend once told me, “Be kind, but take no sh!t.” Compassion and empathy is how we win the war, taking no abuse is how we survive long enough to enjoy it.
