Coos Bay School District (CBSD) Social Media Guidelines



The CBSD makes every reasonable effort to ensure that its social media pages contain only content appropriate to serve its mission of preparing all of our kids for a successful future. The nature of social media sites presents third parties the opportunity to post content over which CBSD has no control, which may be offensive, inappropriate, and/or in violation of CBSD policies and regulations. Examples of “offensive” posts include those that are violent, obscene, profane, hateful or racist. Once identified, such content will be removed as promptly as circumstances allow and the person who made the post will be banned and reported to law enforcement as appropriate. Examples of “inappropriate” posts include comments that threaten or harm the reputation of any person or organization, advertisements or solicitations of any kind, comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity, multiple off-topic posts or repetitive posts that are copied and pasted, and personal information including, but not limited to, email addresses, telephone numbers or mailing addresses. These posts may be removed and the person who made the post may be banned at the discretion of CBSD staff. The CBSD does not sponsor or endorse any content posted on its social media sites by third party users.

🎉🏴‍☠️ Our Marshfield High School family had an incredible showing at the Fun Festival parade! The Band of Pirates, the Upbeats, cheerleaders, and a float filled with our amazing student athletes all did an outstanding job throughout the parade, pumping up the crowd and spreading school spirit. 🎺🎶🎀🏅

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this wonderful annual tradition — your energy and enthusiasm made it a memorable event for all. We’re so proud of our students and staff for representing Marshfield with pride and school spirit!

🎉🏈 A huge thank you to the Marshfield High School ASB for organizing an incredible assembly yesterday to pump up our Pirates before the big home game against South Umpqua! The energy was contagious, and it really fired up our team and fans alike.

What a game! It was a nail-biter, but our Pirates pulled off an amazing victory — going for two in the fourth quarter to win 8-7. The student section, band, dance team, and cheer squad did an **outstanding job** boosting team spirit and giving us that true home field advantage with their energy and cheers.

They placed **First Overall Entry!** Congratulations to our talented students for a fantastic performance and well-deserved win! This incredible showcase was also a perfect tune-up for their upcoming parade in December honoring Pearl Harbor Day. 🇺🇸

🌅✨ What a beautiful morning for our Senior Sunrise at Marshfield High School! The Class of 2027 kicked off their last year together with a wonderful turnout, celebrating their last "first day" as seniors. It was a special moment filled with smiles, laughter, and excitement for the adventures ahead.

Here’s to many more last events celebrated together for this great group of kids — memories they’ll cherish forever!

A huge thank you to all the parents who donated food, funds, or their time to make this event possible. Your support truly makes these moments unforgettable.

One Night. One Class. The Start of Our Final Chapter.

When: Tues, Sept 8 at 9:00 PM — Wed, Sept 9 at SUNRISE
Where: MHS Main Gym (sunrise watch & breakfast in Pirate Parking Lot)
Who: MHS Seniors ONLY

What’s happening:

Late-night pizza party (free pizza!)
Gaming stations & group games
Movie marathon on the big screen
Sunrise watch and breakfast together

What to bring:

Blankets, pillows, sleeping bags
Cozy clothes or pajamas
Optional: games & controllers
And most importantly — unmatched senior spirit!

After-sunrise logistics:

Staying for school? Showers will be available in the gym locker rooms to get ready right after the sunrise watch.

Help send the Marshfield High School Marching Band to the Pearl Harbor Day Parade! 🎺🇺🇸

Join us for a Fundraising Dinner on September 12th, 5:00–7:00 PM at Black Market Gourmet (Central Ave, Coos Bay). Enjoy a small-plates dinner (non-alcoholic drinks included, no-host bar available), live music from Marshfield students, and a silent auction. Tickets are $50 per person.

📣 Marshfield High School Family Newsletter — First Week of August

August is here, and we are excited to prepare for the new school year! Registration is coming up on August 19 and 20. Families should complete the online verification using the registration packets sent home. New students may print a registration packet from the district website or pick one up from the Registrar’s Office.

Fall sports and activities are also getting ready to begin! Athletic registration is currently open, and students must complete the registration process before official practices begin on August 17. Bay Clinic will offer sports physicals at Marshfield High School on Wednesday, August 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Meet the Pirate Night on August 26 at 5:00 p.m. Come support our fall sports and activities programs!

We can’t wait to welcome our students back to campus soon. Go Pirates! 🏴‍☠️💙
