We perform several concerts a year, deliver singing valentines, and have some quartets that spin-of to cover special events. We do all this as an “a cappella group”
A cappella singing is making music without instruments. The voices create the harmonies and percussion that complement the melody. It is a great way to make music with a truly portable sound, and you can sing with just four of the group as a quartet, when the mood or situation calls for it! This is often heard on college campuses, in the Grammy award winning Pentatonix group, some doo wop groups, barbershop quartets (including the Jimmy Fallon show parody group the Ragtime Girls), for example. It is a lot easier than most people think, and with learning tracks and CD’s for most songs available, even those who can’t read music can make beautiful music. It also helps singers grow individually. So whether you are an experienced singer who sight-reads songs, a shower-singer who wants a real stage, or a young talent who might outshine the old pro, we look for your unique contributions!
