Tomorrow is the big day for the Rotary Fall Social! The schedule for the event is shown in the image below. We will have several games, a terrific silent auction, a new fundraiser called "The Rotary Fall Wall of Fortune," and several raffle items. Speaking of the raffle, we will post a sneak preview of the raffle items in the comments section. Great food, music, beverage sampling, and people all while fundraising for a great cause - its truly a can't miss event!

Rotary District 5960 Governor Nominee Peter Grayson visited our club today to share updates and to hear from us on how our club and the district can stay connected. He also took a moment to present club member Al Hamel with a Creating Impact Award for his dedicated service to our club and to Rotary International. Thank you District Governor Nominee Grayson for attending our meeting and congratulations to Al Hamel!

Don't forget to show up hungry when you attend the C**n Rapids
Rotary Fall Social on Thursday. We will have plenty of food to sample from Kendall's Tavern & Chophouse and Bunker Hills Event Center. To give you a taste of the menu (bad pun intended), we will have the meatball trio (a favorite for many), soft pretzels with cheese and mustard, multiple types of flatbreads, a new taco dip, and other items like fresh fruit and vegetables. We will also have your sweet tooth covered with a variety dessert shooters and homemade apple crisp. Tickets are still available online by visiting our event page or you can simply buy them at the door. Please join us on October 1st.

The Rotary Fall Social is a week from today! Beverage sampling has always been a popular feature of our annual event and this year we made an effort to expand the types of beverages to have something for everyone. We have seven great vendors committed to providing samples, including:

-Lupulin Brewing Company(B**r)
-Elm Creek Brewing Co. (B**r)
-Castle Danger Brewery (B**r)
-Urban Growler Brewing Company (B**r)
-Isanti Spirits Distillery (Wh***ey, Bourbon, Gin)
-The Healthy Boulevard (Craft mocktails and NA samples)
-Kendall's Tavern & Chophouse (W**e and other beverage samples)

These great companies donate their time and beverage samples to help make our fundraiser a success. The C**n Rapids Rotary Club is thankful for their partnership!

The Rotary Fall Social is less than two weeks away on Thursday, October 1st! Food, music, craft beer/beverages, silent auction, raffles, and games are all important pieces to our event, so we are going to feature each of these in the lead up to the big day. Today we are highlighting Small Town Radio and welcoming them back to our event. These guys do a great job of filling the room with fun music all night long. Tickets for the event are available through EventBrite on our event page, Rotary Fall Social, or can be purchased at the door.

Before we spend too much time on the "what" for the Rotary Fall Social, let's spend some time on the "why." The primary purpose of this event is to raise funds for programs at C**n Rapids High School - Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering. More specifically, this event raises money to pay for the annual Respect Retreat put on by Youth Frontiers. The retreat is a one-day, off-site event for all 9th grade students with the goal of providing the experience of what school would be like if everyone was respected, and to challenge them to respect themselves and others. More information on the retreat can be found here: https://www.youthfrontiers.org/respect-retreat/.

Funding the Respect Retreat falls right in line with one of our Club's primary focuses, which is to support youth programs and youth leadership development. To that end, we stay closely connected to C**n Rapid High School and support the school however we are able. Recently, several Club members greeted students on their first day of class in an effort to show the students our support. Here is a photo of our members, school staff, and other community supporters on the first day of school.

The kids are back to school, football is on TV, and the nights are getting cooler. That can only mean one thing - the Rotary Fall Social is just around the corner on October 1st! We will be posting on this page frequently over the next couple of weeks to fill you in on this year's event. Twice a year, the C**n Rapids Rotary Club performs roadside cleanup along East River Road. Although our team was small this spring, we remained highly effective in our efforts.
