Child Care Services:
At Compass Child Care we have a passion for fun, engaging and immersive programming. We believe that learning is an adventure and everyone needs direction in their journey; at Compass, we want to be that guidance. Every child in our care, even our youngest little explorers, receive age appropriate curriculum. In our infant and toddler rooms our curriculum starts off the strong foundation that all other knowledge is built upon. Our preschool program is on the cutting edge of early childhood education. Each child will get the opportunity to be immersed in music & movement, art & fine motor, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), dramatic/ imaginative play, sensory and social skills. We have gone to great lengths to find teachers that love children and have a passion to teach their favorite subject. Imagine that, a child gets to change rooms and atmospheres that are wrapped in subject and theme, getting activities and lessons from teachers that are enthusiastically planning curriculum they love. We don’t think it gets any better than that but if it does we are eager to grow with the children in our care! We want to give children guidance and direction in their life-long adventures in learning.

🍂🎃 ANOKA FALL FESTIVAL 🎃🍂
We had a great weekend at the Anoka County Fair Fall Festival! The Compass Ag Education Building was open all weekend with crafts, games, animal sound bingo, bingo with the Anoka Lions and plenty of our usual Ag Building fun!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and spent part of their weekend with us!

👀🖐🏽 WEEKLY RECAP 👅👃🏽 - My 5 Senses
This week, we explored the world around us through our five senses! Students learned how we use sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste to experience and understand the things around us. Throughout the week, we used hands-on exploration, sensory play, art, movement, and group activities to discover how each sense works and how our senses help us every day. My 5 Senses Learning Objectives:

🔺 Explore the five senses through hands-on learning
🔺 Develop observation skills
🔺 Ask questions and share discoveries
🔺 Learn new vocabulary related to the senses
🔺 Strengthen listening and communication skills
🔺 Learn about body parts and their functions

Next week, we start a brand new theme, Our Community! We’ll begin by learning all about the places in our community. Have a great weekend!

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺! ⭐️
Jenni is truly one of the biggest behind-the-scenes rockstars at Compass! She is organized, patient, hardworking, and someone who consistently keeps things moving forward. Her attention to detail and dedication help make sure nothing slips through the cracks, and the amount of work she handles each day is incredible.

Jenni cares deeply about both the families and staff she works with, and she approaches everything she does with professionalism and empathy. She is adaptable, dependable, and always willing to help solve problems or support others however she can. Compass would not run the same without her steady presence and commitment.

We are so thankful for Jenni and all the dedication, care, and hard work she brings to Compass every single day!

🎃🍁 CURRICULUM NIGHT 🐿️🍂
Last week’s Curriculum Night gave our teachers a look at everything coming up with October’s theme: Our Community! Our Curriculum Coaches, Brenda, Ashley, and Jen, shared activities and ideas to help children learn more about the people, places, and things that make up the communities around them. Throughout the month, we’ll explore Community Places, Community Helpers, Safety in Our Community, and our Natural Community & Nocturnal Animals.

October also brings plenty of Fall Fun on Fridays with leaves, squirrels, pumpkins, and Halloween mixed into the month. There’s a lot to look forward to as we head into one of our favorite times of the year!

🤗👫 WEEKLY RECAP ❤️🌟 – Good Friends
This week’s theme was To have a good friend, you need to be a good friend! Our classrooms focused on building social skills by learning about My Friends at School, how Everybody’s the Same/Everybody’s Different, the importance of Working Together & Getting Along, and what it means to Become Friends. Through stories, group discussions, and play-based activities, children practiced kindness, cooperation, and inclusion in meaningful ways. Good Friends Learning Objectives:

🔴 Learn how music can be used to express feelings
🟠 Recognize cause and effect
🟡 Identify the first letter in their name
🟢 Make predictions
🔵 Build motor skills by cutting out patterns
🟣 Learn about trust and what it means to be a good friend

🏡🐱 WEEKLY RECAP 🐾👨‍👩‍👦 - Family & Pets
This week we learned all about My Family, Your Family, and Pets! During our large group time we discussed the importance of family, “Who is in a family?”, “What do you think makes a family?”. We pointed out similarities and differences in the types of families represented in the classroom. To increase our math learning we graphed who had pets and what types of pets! My Family, Your Family, and Pets Learning Objectives:

◾️ Participate in group music activities.
◾️ Begin to identify similarities and differences.
◾️ Identify letters in name; Recognize her name in print.
◾️ Understand family relationships
◾️ Learn how families help each other.
◾️ Recognize the feelings of others through team sports.
◾️ Learn more about others and how all people differ.

Ginger is one of those people who can dream big while still making people feel incredibly seen and valued. She is a visionary, entrepreneur, problem-solver, and someone who is constantly thinking about how to make Compass better for both the staff and families we serve! Her creativity and ambition have helped shape Compass into what it is today, but what really stands out is the way she genuinely believes in the people around her.

Ginger has a way of making people feel supported, encouraged, and capable of more than they thought possible. She is thoughtful, funny, generous, and somehow always knows the perfect thing to say or the perfect gift to give! Whether she’s sharing a new idea, making the team laugh, or helping someone work through a challenge, she brings energy and heart into everything she does.

We are so incredibly thankful for Ginger and the leadership, vision, and encouragement she brings to Compass every single day!
