These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change. But FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. For this reason, the name of the organization was updated in 1988 after a vote of national convention delegates to reflect the growing diversit

y and new opportunities in the industry of agriculture. Today, the National FFA Organization remains committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career pathways. So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too.

Today, give of our FFA officers spent the day in Urbandale for officer retreat. Completed the Wild West breakout room with 15 minutes to go, had lunch at Perkins, and spent a few hours at Living History Farm. Great day with a great group.

On Saturday, July 11th, the C**n Rapids-Bayard FFA held their annual Pedal Tractor Pull at the Carroll County Fair. 30 young competitors took part across three age divisions; 4 and under, 5-7 and 8-12. Medals were awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each division.
Ages 4 and under: 1st- Olive Eischeid, 2nd- Ryker Allbright and 3rd- McKinley Frank.
Ages 5-7: 1st- Noah Sawyer, 2nd- Evlyn Dahl and 3rd- Leo Halber
Ages 8-12: 1st- Landon Gunderson, 2nd- Easton Klocke and 3rd- Adrin Halber.
Congratulations to all the participants! A big thank you to all the families and community members who came out to cheer them on!
