Anoka/Washington County Head Start-Early Head Start Anoka/Washington County Head Start-Early Head Start program provides educational services to income eligible families with children birth through age five.

Anoka/Washington County Head Start is a program of ACCAP. https://www.facebook.com/ACCAPAdmin/ Anoka/Washington County's Head Start program provides education, nutrition, mental health, school readiness and parent engagement services to children and families from income eligible households. Our approach is to provide high-quality educational curriculum while connecting families with growth and learning opportunities. Head Start offers home-based programs with bi-monthly socialization for pregnant moms and children through age 5. Our center-based program operates classes for ages 3-5 at our eight centers, with options for part-day/part-year and full-day/full-year. Anoka/Washington County Head Start-Early Head Start consists of all of the Head Starts and Head Start partners in Anoka and Washington County. These many sites are managed and operated from the ACCAP Head Start building in C**n Rapids.

October is Head Start Awareness Month, a time to recognize what Head Start means right here in our community.

At Anoka/Washington County Head Start-Early Head Start, we serve children and families each year, helping children build a strong foundation for school and life while partnering with parents and caregivers every step of the way.

For years, Head Start has been part of our community, and we’re proud to continue that legacy.

IMPORTANT NOTICE❗
The Family Development Center in C**n Rapids will be having some gutter repairs in the parent parking lot. Starting on Monday, September 28th - Friday, October 2nd, the parking lot and sidewalk will be inaccessible to everyone and will be closed off for safety. Parents may park along 96th Ave or in the Diversified/Concentra Care parking lot temporarily. Please ensure you are parking in the green zone on the map below.

This will also affect drop off and pick up procedures for Rooms 114 - 119. We ask that you drop off and pick up your child through the main entrance (Door 1) temporarily.

NHSA’s Parent Guide to the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) breaks down some of the key changes in straightforward, everyday language and explains how they could impact children and families.

Head Start parents and caregivers know firsthand what makes this program work for children and families.

Right now, the federal government is considering changes to the Head Start Program Performance Standards through a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). An NPRM is part of the federal rulemaking process and gives the public an opportunity to weigh in before proposed changes become final.

These changes could affect health and other essential services, staff-to-child ratios, disability supports, eligibility, how children build English proficiency and opportunities for parents to lead.
