Capshaw Pre-K spent this week investigating pumpkins! We used our senses to discover different characteristics of pumpkins. We compared and contrasted pumpkins and oranges, tasted pumpkin seeds, and finished it up at Amazin Acres.
•PK.LS1.01c. Recognize and describe the function of the five senses of humans.
•PK.ESS2.01a. Investigate and identify a variety of Earth materials by their observable properties (e.g. soil, rocks, sand, water).
•PK.ESS3.01a. Observe, describe, and compare the habitats of plants and animals.

Our 2nd graders had the BEST first week of swimming at the YMCA! We had so much fun learning new skills, building confidence, and making a splash!
We were also so lucky to have a special visitor from TWRA at Dale Hollow Lake come teach us all about water safety! 🛟🌊 Our students learned important safety tips and how to stay safe in and around the water. What a fun and educational week! We can’t wait for more swimming fun! 💙🏊‍♂️
