Montessori Minute: This month we are learning all about space and have changed the shelves to accommodate the theme! We are counting stars, learning about constellations, identifying planets, practicing fine motor skills by beading and weaving and learning: greater than, less than and equal to by weighing astronauts on a scale. We even have a "homework assignment" this month- draw the moon every night and learn about moon phases. KDB scholars are having a blast learning about Space!

This month our theme was “Fun on the Farm” and we were so excited to have our monthly outing at Making Mini Memories educational farm! We saw many animals including goats, pigs, donkeys and more! it was a very fun day for our little scholars!

Montessori Minute: Patterns are the foundation for future reading and Math. Learning to look for patterns help students make predictions based on logical connections and reasoning skills. In this video, Ruby, a fresh 5 yr old, is working on identifying what comes next in the pattern. She did very well with AB, AAB, AABB, ABB and ABC patterns, when we added a third item to the sequence she found the task to be a little more challenging and decided to put it away. At KDB Montessori we try to encourage scholars to work through their frustration, she now has a goal to tackle ABBC and ABCD patterns.
