And honestly, sometimes children ask because they are struggling to see the connection between the lesson they are learning and real life.

That is where real-life learning can flip the script on those hard to get through lessons.

Making real-life connections make...

🍎 Math more meaningful

🍎 Writing more purposeful

🍎 Science facinating

🍎 History personal

Learning sticks when children understand why the information matters.

Instead of asking yourself, "Did my child understand the lesson we just went over?"

Try asking, "Where can I make this lesson happen in real life?"

That one question can turn an ordinary school day into an opportunity for deeper connection.

Making real-life connections for our children's learning is powerful!

Children remember what they experience.

We can read about the Civil War.
Or, we can stand on a battlefield and imagine what it would have been like to hear the cannons blast.

We can learn about supply and demand.

Or, we can let our children plan the grocery budget and compare prices at the grocery store.

One is information. The other becomes and experience they won't soon forget.

Homeschooling gives us the beautiful freedom to pursue deep learning.

One of the greatest gifts of homeschooling is the freedom & flexibility to allow wonder & imagination to flourish.

You have the time to take the rabbit trail or dive deep into that burning question in your child's heart.

What if we approached homeschooling more for connection than finishing a curriculum?

When our goal is connecting with our children, and connecting our children to learning a powerful thing happens.

They get to see that curiosity, questioning, mistakes, and discovering something new never stops. They get to see that they don't outgrow learning something new, and that is exciting!
