SUSAN REEVES-BROWN
M.G. Barksdale Elementary School
Susan Reeves-Brown has been teaching for 25 years and is currently teaching the 2nd grade at Barksdale Elementary School, a position she’s held for 3 years. She has been married for 27 years and is the proud mother of two young adults.
As a member of the Books and Bubbly Book Club, Mrs. Reeves-Brown loves to read. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching television, going to concerts, and prioritizing self-care and rest. She is also a proud member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia.
She says hearing back from former students is one of her most rewarding experiences as a teacher. She recalls a time when one of her former third-grade students came back to visit her and introduced his wife. “(His wife) told me that he said I was his favorite teacher. That was a mountain top moment for me,” Mrs. Reeves-Brown said.
