When was the last time you were simply a woman?

Not the mother.
Not the grandmother.
Not the healer, priestess, businesswoman, or the one everyone depends on.

Just…a woman.

I created this reflection a few months ago as an invitation for other women. But when I listened to it today, I became emotional because I realized that I had not been fully present with myself either.

Sometimes the words we offer others find their way back to us.

For the next seven minutes, I invite you to set down every role you carry. You don’t have to accomplish anything, solve anything, or be anything for anyone.

Just breathe. Listen. And allow yourself to remember the woman beneath all the responsibilities.

Many of you have seen the name Yeyẹ́sìndé and witnessed the work—but you may not know the woman, the journey, or the spiritual calling behind it.

Yeyẹ́sìndé was not simply a name I chose. It represents who I have become through years of healing, service, spiritual development, and answering the call placed upon my life.

In this article, I’m sharing more of my story—who I am, what I stand for, and the experiences that shaped the sacred work I offer today.

I am a priestess who understands that spiritual authority also requires humility. And I am building a body of work that I hope will remain useful long after a ceremony has ended, a session is complete, or a woman has left my space.

“I know I’m supposed to be doing something.”

I hear this from women all the time.

They feel drawn to spiritual work. Healing work. Ritual. Supporting other women.

Some have been feeling it for years.

But knowing you’re called and knowing what to do with that calling are two very different things.

And I think this is where a lot of women get stuck.

You keep reading.
You keep learning.
You keep watching other people do the work.

But at some point, you have to move from learning about the work to actually practicing it.

That requires something different.

You have to learn how to sit with a woman and truly listen.

How to ask the right questions.
How to create sacred space with intention.
How to guide someone through a ritual instead of simply performing one.
How to trust what you know while also recognizing what you still need to learn.

A calling may lead you to the work. But practice is what prepares you to do it.

I think sometimes we wait to feel completely ready before we take the first step.

But most of us did not become practitioners because one morning we suddenly felt ready.

We became practitioners because somewhere along the way, we finally began to practice.

So if you know you're called, perhaps the question isn't:
“Am I ready?”

Perhaps the better question is:
“What am I doing to prepare?”

Today, I celebrate another solar return. ♍️✨

I am deeply thankful for the lessons, wisdom, and growth this past year has brought me. I’m especially grateful for my spiritual journey—for the ways it has strengthened me, deepened me, and brought me into greater alignment with who I am becoming.

I welcome this new year of life with an open heart, looking forward to many more years filled with health, happiness, purpose, and fulfillment.
