Big field day for Dr. Cates's Introduction to Public History: class: Last week, they visited the Henry B. Burroughs Jr. Archives and Special Collections and the Horry County Archives Center in CCU's newly renovated Kimbel Library. Students explored artifacts and documents while learning about archival management, digitization, and the vital role archives play in preserving and sharing local history. THANK YOU, Ben Burroughs and Scott Bacon, for being such great hosts!

TOMORROW - CCU's Department of History presents its 'War and Society Film Series'

OPERATION ANTHROPOID

This 2016 war thriller depicts Operation Anthropoid, a military mission conceived during World War II to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich, the main architect behind the Final Solution and the Reich’s third in command. Following the screening, Chris Gunn, professor in the Department of History, provides cultural and historical context for the film and will lead a Q&A session.
