Cheers to another successful Move-In Day! 🧡🖤

Yesterday, our campus was full of helping hands. Orientation and residence life staff along with Altus, our cheerleaders and football players, and more—all making sure our newest Warriors felt right at home.

We are thrilled to have the entire Class of 2030 on campus.

We sure love the vibe of a busy Hendrix! 🎉

Orientation Week is in full swing! Be sure to check the schedule because we’re just getting started.

Next up: all returning students arrive August 23. We can’t wait to have everyone back on campus! 🧡🖤

Move-in Day ( # 3) is here! By the end of the day, ALL of our new students will be on campus together.

We are so excited that you’re here and wanted to share a bit of advice from some of our community members to help you get settled in.

Consider this your first bit of Hendrix wisdom. There will be a lot more in the coming days. 😉

We’re ready for you, Warriors! 🧡

Before welcoming the Class of 2030 to campus, Altus made a practice run through the Hendrix One-Stop Shop, just like our new students will on Move-In Day.

Here’s the game plan for New Student Move-In Day Via Hendrix, Tuesday, August 18:

🏠 Move In | 8 am-1 pm
Head straight to your res hall, where our Orientation (OR) team will help unload and get your things into your new home. Pro tip: Label boxes and belongings with your hall name and room number to make move-in even smoother!

🚗 Park and head to the SLTC
Once you’ve unloaded, park your vehicle(s), gather the family, and make your way to the Student Life and Technology Center (SLTC) for the Hendrix One-Stop Shop, open from 8 am-1 pm.

👋 Make the rounds at One-Stop Shop
Pick up your OR T-shirt, name tag, and program schedule, then take care of any last-minute items before Orientation officially begins. Staff from departments across campus—from Residence Life and IT to Financial Aid, Public Safety, Parent Engagement, the Chaplain’s Office, and more—will be together in one convenient place to answer questions and help you get started.

📸 Make some Move-In Day memories
Keep an eye out for photo opps along the way, and be sure to share your Move-In Day photos and tag Hendrix on socials!

🧡 Grab some Hendrix gear
The Spirit Store in the SLTC will be open until 3 pm with plenty of Hendrix swag and Move-In Day deals you don’t want to miss.

And that’s just the beginning. Lunch, the Class of 2030 photo, your first OR group gathering, Warrior Welcome, and more are waiting for you later in the day.

Another successful move-in day for our Warriors!🧡🖤

Our favorite mascot was on hand, along with staff from different offices from across campus, welcoming new and returning fall athletes to campus. Altus took the job very seriously, as you can see. 😉 We may have even caught him taking a bit of a rest between greetings, actually! 💤

We are building on strong momentum as President Karen Petersen extends her leadership through 2031.

The Hendrix College Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a five-year contract to retain President Petersen, reflecting confidence in her vision and leadership at a pivotal moment for the College.

Since arriving in 2023, Petersen has led major strides in philanthropy, student opportunity, community partnerships, campus investment, and career preparation—including the launch of Via Hendrix.

As we approach our sesquicentennial celebration and look toward the next 150 years, Hendrix will continue moving forward with Petersen leading the way.

A very important question when you’re a first-year football player. Move-in comes with a lot of firsts, laundry lessons included.
