The CoastalLIFE Program provides an alternate pathway to college for young adults with moderate intellectual disabilities.
The CoastalLIFE Program at Coastal Carolina University was developed to provide an age-appropriate educational experience for young adults with moderate intellectual disabilities. LIFE students attend college courses, live in on-campus student housing, and participate in campus activities. They have full access to campus resources and facilities and are recognized as Coastal Carolina University st

We love seeing our future Chanticleers arrive with so much support! Welcome to Coastal, Carolina!
Next up was another Orientation Bag for another sweet young lady spending the night in the dorms before orientation tomorrow. 💙🐓
This time, the surprise was sent by her grandma! 🥹 How sweet is that?
Grandma made sure to let me know her granddaughter has severe peanut and tree nut allergies, so we swapped out a few of the snacks to make everything safe just for her. No big deal—that's exactly why every bag is customized to fit each student's needs.
Delivered without a hitch, and one more future Chanticleer is all set for tomorrow's big day! Wishing her the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter. 💛

Our newest CoastalLIFE students completed assessments in money literacy, time management, employment readiness, cleaning, and cooking. These activities help us identify each student’s strengths and where they’ll grow and develop greater independence throughout the year. Here’s to a great start and an exciting year ahead!

Our newest CoastalLIFE students are officially here! Today was all about getting meeting new friends, and kicking off orientation with a fun night of bowling.
