The CoastalLIFE Program provides an alternate pathway to college for young adults with moderate intellectual disabilities.
The CoastalLIFE Program at Coastal Carolina University was developed to provide an age-appropriate educational experience for young adults with moderate intellectual disabilities. LIFE students attend college courses, live in on-campus student housing, and participate in campus activities. Did you know that college is an option for students with ? There are over 350 programs serving more than 8,000 students with ID in the U.S.
Students with who attend college programs are more likely to have competitive jobs after college (RSA 911 data; Sannicandro et al., 2018).
In South Carolina, we have 6 IPSE programs with currently enrolled students & a 7th program will begin this fall at Midlands Tech in Columbia- MidlandsLIFE!
