💲 👀 Undergraduate students and faculty are invited to attend an Open House on September 9th to learn about Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) grants. These grants from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education provide funding for student research projects, as well as creative activities!

Student stipends for a two-semester project are $2,500. The grant also provides a $750 travel stipend (required) to conduct research, attend a conference, etc. Students will need a faculty mentor, who will also receive a $750 stipend if the application is approved.

There's still time to submit your work for "Neighbors, An Art Show," sponsored by our friends at Engage Management. Accepted work will be on display Friday, October 2nd at the Brick Room in Conway where Engage Management will be celebrating 10 years of this annual event. CAHSS is proud that Dr. Jennifer Case is the featured artist in the Nabholz Room for Friday's Conway Art Walk. Dr. Case is a professor in the Creative Writing Programs at UCA and just published her newest book, "The Carework Project: Reckoning with Love, Labor, and the Living World" through Trinity University Press. The book includes collage work and showcases Dr. Case's background in visual art. Meet her and see her work from 5-8 pm in The Studio Downtown!

Starting TODAY, UCA is home to an amazing Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition in the Windgate Center "Art Alley," located between the two Windgate buildings. The exhibition is a collaboration between the UCA Department of Art & Design and the Midsouth Sculpture Alliance (MSA), which will hold its 2026 MSA Confab at UCA on October 2nd and 3rd. Hosted by Dr. Bryan Massey, Chair of Art and Design, the confab will include an opening reception for the exhibition. In the meantime, campus and community visitors can visit the alley at any time and experience contemporary sculpture in an outdoor setting. The exhibition will on display for an entire year, and accepted artists include the following:
